Scholarships

The Quell Foundation Scholarships are a one-time, merit, and need-based award. There are three distinct scholarships. Awards will be made to those students who demonstrate a high level of scholarship and/or a history of employment and training that reflects a commitment to work and shared mission. Students must be accepted and enrolled in an accredited college/university located within the United States.

No. New in 2026, The Quell Foundation is proud to offer the Bridge the Gap Clinical Licensure Grant. This grant evolved from the Foundation’s former Bridge the Gap Scholarship, which provided tuition assistance for graduate students, and was redesigned to more directly strengthen the mental health workforce by supporting individuals entering the profession, expanding access to high-quality mental health services, and promoting systemic change that broadens the reach and impact of clinical and behavioral health care. This new grant program has new eligibility criteria which can be seen here.

The Quell Foundation scholarship application will be open to submit from March 6, 2026 – March 13, 2026 (11:59pm, PST). Application materials are available (to begin preparing) but it is imperative that applications not be submitted early as they will not be considered.

Completed applications may only be submitted during the application window: March 6, 2026 – March 13, 2026 (11:59pm, PST).

Early or late submissions will not be reviewed.

Applicants can find the link to all scholarship applications on The Quell Foundation website under the scholarships and grants tab or by clicking here.

At this time The Quell Foundation’s scholarships are only for those students who are enrolled in an accredited program located within the United States.

Students younger than a graduating high school senior are unfortunately not yet eligible to apply. The Fighter, Survivor, and First Responder Legacy awards are reserved for graduating high school seniors who have been accepted into an accredited university, as well as current undergraduate/graduate students. The Bridge the Gap Clinical Licensure Grant is reserved for professionals who have already earned a Master’s degree in a mental health field and are in pursuit of clinical licensure.

All component parts of a scholarship application, including letters of recommendation, must be received within the submission window: March 6, 2026 – March 13, 2026, 11:59 PM PST. Yes. We accept any of these 3 forms. They must not be older than the 2024 filing year.

Letters of recommendation may be submitted either by the student applicant or directly by the person writing the recommendation letter via the unique file drop url located within the application. Students are encouraged to share the application instructions with their writers. If recommenders elect to upload directly, it is important that they populate the name fields with the first/last name of the applicant whom they are submitting on behalf of. All letters of recommendation must be dated (within 12 months of the application), and have a signature and direct contact information included. All letters must be submitted within the open application period March 6, 2026 – March 13, 2026, 11:59 PM PST.

If you are applying for more than one scholarship, your letters of recommendation need to be uploaded to each appropriate application and linked url.

Yes. If you meet all eligibility criteria, and will be attending a program full-time in the fall, you may still apply. If selected for a scholarship, a member of the Quell team will be in communication with you prior to checks being issued. At that time, you must confirm the name of your college/university. It will be critical that this is accurate at that time, as checks are made out to the college/university itself.

Applicants may be asked to participate in an interview with a member of The Quell Foundation scholarship committee. Students will be notified of their preliminary selection, and the next steps for consideration, by Friday, May 8, 2026.

If selected for a scholarship, a member of the Quell team will be in communication with you prior to checks being issued. At that time, you can provide your updated mailing address. Once the checks have been mailed, however, The Quell Foundation cannot replace lost or stolen checks. It is recommended that when you identify a mailing address for yourself, that you please provide a permanent, accessible address.

Scholarship checks will be mailed to the reliable address you provide to us, made out to your college/university, and will include your name and student ID (if available). Recipients are responsible for submitting their scholarship check (to be used for tuition only) to their school’s Bursar/Financial aid department. If you have been awarded the Bridge the Gap Clinical Licensure Grant, The Quell Foundation will remit payment directly to the designated clinical supervision partner to cover supervision services related to licensure.

No. Scholarship awards must only be applied toward the 2026-2027 academic year. If your tuition balance is less than the amount of the award, the remainder of the funds must be returned to The Quell Foundation. Awards are for tuition expenses only.

The award check is made payable to the university or college you designated and you will be responsible for submitting this check to your college or university by October 2, 2026. Checks cannot be replaced if lost, stolen, or not deposited. No exceptions.

No. We encourage all applicants to directly correspond with The Quell Foundation.

Fundraising Events

We ask that guests dress formal. Tuxedos and floor-length gowns are a popular option.

To honor our theme and mission to lift the mask, we strongly encourage all guests to arrive wearing masks which we will remove during the welcoming remarks and the Lift the Mask ceremony before dinner begins.

The Quell Foundation typically carries extra masks at registration on the night of the event. However, we do request that masks be secured on your own in advance of the evening, as we cannot guarantee enough masks for all attendees. Plus… It’s more fun to pick your own!

We’d be thrilled to hear from you! Please complete our Volunteer Form or reach out to liftthemask@thequellfoundation.org Thank you for your interest!
