I haven’t solidified what college/university I will be attending in the fall yet. Can I still apply for a scholarship?
Yes. If you meet all eligibility criteria, and will be attending a program full-time in the fall, you may still apply. If selected for a scholarship, a member of the Quell team will be in communication with you prior to checks being issued. At that time, you must confirm the name of your college/university. It will be critical that this is accurate at that time, as checks are made out to the college/university itself.
I’ve sent in my application materials, now what?
Applicants may be asked to participate in an interview with a member of The Quell Foundation scholarship committee. Students will be notified of their preliminary selection, and the next steps for consideration, by Friday, May 9, 2025.
I provided the incorrect address or have recently moved after submitting my application. Can I have a new check sent to me?
If selected for a scholarship, a member of the Quell team will be in communication with you prior to checks being issued. At that time, you can provide your updated mailing address. Once the checks have been mailed, however, The Quell Foundation cannot replace lost or stolen checks. It is recommended that when you identify a mailing address for yourself, that you please provide a permanent, accessible address.
How will I receive my scholarship?
Scholarship checks will be mailed to the reliable address you provide to us, made out to your college/university, and will include your name and student ID (if available). Recipients are responsible for submitting their scholarship check (to be used for tuition only) to their school’s Bursar/Financial aid department.
Can scholarship awards be split or fully awarded for the next academic year?
No. Scholarship awards must only be applied toward the 2025-2026 academic year. If your balance is less than the amount of the award, the remainder of the funds must be returned to The Quell Foundation. Awards are for tuition expenses only.
The check is made payable to the university or college you designated and you will be responsible for submitting this check to your college or university by October 3, 2025. Checks cannot be replaced if lost, stolen, or not deposited. No exceptions.
Can others correspond on my behalf if I have further questions or specific needs?
No. We encourage all students to directly correspond with The Quell Foundation.
Fundraising Events
Masquerade Ball: What is the attire?
We ask that guests dress formal. Tuxedos and floor-length gowns are a popular option.
Masquerade Ball: Do I have to wear a mask?
To honor our theme and mission to lift the mask, we strongly encourage all guests to arrive wearing masks which we will remove during the welcoming remarks and the Lift the Mask ceremony before dinner begins.
Masquerade Ball: Does The Quell Foundation provide masks?
The Quell Foundation typically carries extra masks at registration on the night of the event. However, we do request that masks be secured on your own in advance of the evening, as we cannot guarantee enough masks for all attendees. Plus… It’s more fun to pick your own!
